What Is Smartproxy?
Smartproxy is a rotating residential proxy. It enables users to gather any data from the web using a pool of over 10 million proxies. That’s not all: Smartproxy has shared datacenter (DC) proxies too!
Use rotating proxies sessions:
– Rotating IP sessions. IPs are changing with each new request.
– Sticky IP sessions. Keeps your session for a longer period. (DC 30min; Residential- up to 10min)

What Can I Use Your Proxies With?
You can use our proxies with almost any application that supports HTTP/HTTPS Proxies. We support all popular web browsers, social marketing automation and sneaker bots (Jarvee, Follow Liker, Another Nike, Supreme, BNB, Nike Slayer, Easy Cop, AIO, and others). You can find the integration guides here.
How Do Residential Proxies Work?
A residential proxy is an intermediary between somebody’s personal computer and the Internet. It uses an IP address provided by an Internet Service Provider (ISP), not a datacenter. Each residential proxy address has a physical location.
A residential IP address is an IP address tied to a physical device, for example, a mobile phone or desktop computer. Their real owners, Internet service providers, register residential IP addresses in public databases, which lets websites determine a device’s internet provider, network and location. Most online services recognize residential IP addresses as real people, as opposed to those who use datacenter IP addresses.
Unlike regular residential proxies, which simply hide your real IP behind another IP, rotating residential proxies, also known as backconnect proxies, conceal you behind a pool of proxies. These proxies switch between themselves with every session or at regular intervals.
Still have questions about what residential proxies are? Check out our blogpost here.
When you incorporate our proxies with your crawler or any software, all your traffic is routed through a residential IP pool.
You can:
1) Route your traffic through a specific location (country or city) or let it rotate randomly.
2) Choose if you need to get a new IP with each new request or use a sticky session to keep the same IP for a longer period.

How Do Shared Datacenter Proxies Work?
A shared datacenter proxy uses an IP address provided by a datacenter instead of a physical device (physical devices are used for residential proxies).
Here at Smartproxy we have a pool of 40K+ IPs with unlimited connections and advanced proxy rotation. Our proxy datacenters are located in the US and EU, close to major targets such as Google and Amazon. Also, there are hundreds of subnets, so you can forget about being blocked or cloaked.
Datacenter proxies are fast and easy to integrate into any browser and software. Sticky sessions up to 30 minutes are available as well. You can use these datacenter proxies with any application that supports HTTP/HTTPS proxies.

What Are Backonnect Proxies?
A backconnect proxy routes your connection to a random IP address in the proxy pool. Our backconnect proxy rotates to a new IP address for each connection or lets you use unlimited sticky IP sessions for up to 10 minutes for each IP.
The backconnect node lets you easily automate tasks and make many connections in a short amount of time. Our backconnect proxies are also available with location-targeting for IP addresses in a certain country or city.

Do You Support HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS Protocols?
Currently, we support only HTTP/S protocols. The HTTPS communication protocol is encrypted using a proprietary algorithm.

What Are Sticky and Rotating Sessions?
With our proxies, you can choose between two kinds of sessions:
– Rotating IP sessions. IPs change with each new request. For instance, you open a website with one IP; but when you do any further action, such as reload the website or open a link, your IP will have already changed.
– Sticky IP sessions – they keep the same IP for a longer period of time: up to 10 mins for residential IPs and 30 mins for datacenter IPs. The countdown starts with the first request sent. A session gets terminated if no response is received from an IP address or if there’s no activity for 60s for that session. Once a session gets terminated – you will receive a new sticky IP and same rules apply again.
Can I Select Proxies from a Specific Location / Country / City?
You can use country and city level targeting. We are constantly adding more IPs to our network!
Country:
In the dashboard we have endpoints from more than 195+ locations around the world.
City:
Available cities: New York | Los Angeles | Chicago | Houston | Miami | London | Berlin | Moscow
Residential proxies can be accessed through country-specific or city-specific ports by using your login credentials (username and password) or via whitelisted IPs.
You can also access your proxies through a single backconnect endpoint: gate.smartproxy.com:7000. In this case, you need to pass the country/city parameter alongside your username and password.
